The financial divorce profession was founded by Carol Ann Wilson more than 25 years ago as a realization of her ongoing goal to make divorce more financially equitable. Throughout her years as a financial planner, she has frequently dealt with the devastating aftermath of divorce that leaves one former spouse with very little to rebuild with financially. She has become an expert in the many issues related to developing financially equitable settlements so that both of the divorcing parties can rebuild their lives afterwards.

Carol Ann Wilson has founded several organizations including the Institute for Certified Divorce Planners and the Financial Divorce Association. She has served as an expert witness in court for more than 120 divorce cases nationwide. She is a nationally-known presenter and the author or co-author of several books on divorce and numerous articles published in professional journals. She has appeared on television programs such as The Regis Philbin Show, Geraldo, and the CNBC Financial News as well as many radio shows.
