President of the Financial Divorce Association
The Financial Divorce Association has been providing
training and certification in the financial, legal and tax aspects
of divorce since 1986.
Deb Johnson is President of Financial Divorce Association.
Deb experienced the life transition of divorce first hand.
This experience created her resolve to educate
and empower others who would travel the same path.
Deb has been a financial advisor for over
20 years and is a Certified Divorce Financial Specialist,
Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and Mediator. She has
earned the following designations:
- Certified Divorce Financial Specialist by the Financial
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) - The American College
in Bryn Mawr, PA
- Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA)
The Institute for Certified Divorce Financial Analysts in Deerfield,
- Mediator Collaborative Growth mediation training
The Financial Divorce Association, Inc. was founded in 1986
to make divorce more financially equitable, and help deal with
the devastating aftermath of divorce that leaves one former spouse
with very little to rebuild with financially.
The Financial Divorce Association (FDA) has undergone several name
changes over the years but the underlying concept is still the same:
to help divorcing couples reach a financial agreement that is the
best for both. To that end, FDA trains financial professionals
such as financial planners, CPAs and attorneys in the financial
and tax laws that will accomplish this goal.
Members of the Financial Divorce Association are required to submit
20 hours of Continuing Education credit every 2 years to keep their
Members are subject to the FDA Code of Ethics for Financial Divorce
Specialists. In addition, the Financial Divorce Association has
a stringent policy for dealing with complaints against its members,
ensuring that the public receives the highest quality of services
possible from our members.
